DIED PRETTY

Title: Every Brilliant Eye
Label: Blue Mosque (Australia)
Catalogue No: (D30270)
Format: CD (album)
Released: 1990
Price: $ 30.00

Regular overseas touring paid off for the band with enough attention being gained for them to sign with prestigious UK label Beggars Banquet in 1989. Despite wearing the Beggars' trademark in Europe and RCA's in the US, Every Brilliant Eye was released in Australia on Citadel's subsidiary Blue Mosque. We believe it is well and truly deleted now by Beggars and the Australian disc is the only pressing available.

Of Interest:

This, the first recording for Beggars, was unfortunately a mess. Beggars thought the band had an American future and flew them into Los Angeles to record with US producer Jeff Eyrich who immediately enforced his mainstream view on the band, destroying quite a bit of what their fans would recognise as their essence. Perhaps the band was unprepared as well. The resulting album, not without its highlights, is arguably their worst. Many of the trademark DP dynamics are missing. Some band members would however disagree with this assessment.
