Before he joined AC/DC in 1974, Bon Scott had been the lead vocalist with Fraternity, turning out expansive, intriguing, underground 'head' music on one hand and hard-rockin' boogie on the other. Bon toured Australia and Britain with Fraternity, recording two albums and a handful of small-run indie label singles. He also went through the experiences which would shape his attitude and performances in AC/DC. His highly distinctive vocal approach set Fraternity apart as one of the most powerful and acclaimed musical units to emerge from Australia in the early 70s.
The bulk of the band's output has long been out of reach (the original vinyl albums, Livestock and Flaming Galah, fetch many hundreds of dollars). This double CD set makes available every known recording by Fraternity, as well as some unreleased live and studio material (including a version of The Band's 'The Shape I'm In'). Not only an essential acquisition for all AC/DC followers but also for devotees of experimental/underground/progressive music of the late 60s/early 70s.
